Word detectives don’t let vowels trip them up! We look closely inside of words, noticing when two vowels are side by side. Then, we try the word one way and then another way until it makes sense and sounds right! #Teamwork #SSDA

This word detective has been finding our new math vocabulary words from number corner in her reading workshop books! Once word detectives know a word, they add it to their personal word wall in their brain, and can read the word in a SNAP!!! 🔎

Schroeder 1st graders had TONS of fun today at our field trip to Westview Orchards! Wagon rides, apple picking, donuts & cider, feeding animals, playing, and oh so many smiles and laughs! 🍎💚🍂

Kicking off Dragon Dens today! Students got to know their den members, talk about teamwork, and establish their den name. They learned they had many things in common! #SchroederDragons

Working together to look for blends & digraphs in songs and poems, Dragon Dens, finding combinations of 10 using counters & ten-frames, and building Ms. Pertler out of pattern blocks! #SchroederDragons
