Flight attendant: Is there a doctor on this flight? Dad: *nudging me* That should've been you. Me: Not now pops. Dad: They're not asking for someone with 2 master's? Me: Dad, there's a medical emergency right now. Dad: Go ask them if an "interdisciplinary framework" helps.

An old friend moved in down the street. Last time I saw her, we had just graduated & accepted teaching positions.👩🏻‍🎓👨🏻‍🎓 . . . But she is no longer teaching. She couldn’t pass her state exams. . . . My community lost an amazing educator due to a test. 💔 #rethinkassessments

Recess, physical activity, and playtime do more for SEL than any packaged program. In fact, leaving these out of the educational process is borderline child abuse. Children NEED to move, socialize, and play to learn most effectively.

I want to be measured by how great my students become as fathers, mothers and citizens - not by test scores!

When I see a scholar off-task, instead of asking, “What are you doing?” or “Why aren’t you working?” I’ll ask, “You good/you doing okay?” 1. They typically know what I’m getting at (secret redirect) 2. There’s no room for the, “I AM working!” reply. 3. Puts forth a positive tone
