When I was in 4th grade, my favorite teacher left teaching to go into nursing; we became pen pals for a few years afterwards and have reconnected on FB. Now I’m taking a break from teaching to become a student and my favorite student and I exchange emails.

Some US Muslims, especially in positions of leadership, have openly embraced the Evangelical Right’s positions on a few social issues - such as abortion. Islamic laws around abortion aren’t “pro-choice” (per what it means in this country) but they aren’t “pro-life” either.

If this was about babies, there would be universal healthcare. Free education. Free daycare. Southern states would be doing all they can to drop the Black maternal mortality rate. This is about power and control

My one piece of parenting advice if you have a toddler is place him almost on your knee when you're putting him in the stroller and then shift your weight to keep him in and then you can click the straps without him escaping.

Whew! After weeks of waiting, I just found out I passed all of my NY teacher certification exams. Yay! 🎉 To top it off, the edTPA requirement is no longer required starting April 27, so I can go ahead and submit my paperwork to *finally* get my NY certification!
