I’m a local and walk the Strip all the time. We always talk resorts but not about some simple things the County can do.
1. More active policing of the Mentally ill homeless people. They harrass and fight tourists all the time. Want to easily find them? Just go to the nearest fountain or water feature. They’re either taking a bath or diving for quarters.
2. The Strip is our economic engine, yet it smells like piss and the sidewalks are disgusting. Actively clean the sidewalks.
3. Tourists are constantly complaining about the weed smell and people blowing smoke without regards to the folks behind them. Start policing smokers in public and give them a place to smoke legally.
4. The mentally hill homeless just go from trash receptacle to trash receptacle to find leftover alcohol. Replace the receptacles with bins that they cannot get into.
5. Arrest shoplifters! I’ve seen a bunch of shoplifting on the Strip. I saw a guy walk in to CVS and went towards the register, picks up two beers and walks out without fear. I walk out the store and he sitting down outside the store and drinking. Not a care in the World. I’ve also seen security just let them go without calling the police.
None of these will be implemented.
