@artwithinpod what do you mean everything was completely disproven? They aren't trans, but thats because they self-admittedly have a DSD because they have an SRY gene, and high T. So its at least in the realm of possibility that she shouldnt be allowed to compete in the female category

@PlunkingOtter @jarbymccoy @AriDrennen Well strictly speaking we don't know for sure what DSD she has, it could be that she has xx with a translocated sry gene. We do know at least that her testosterone was high enough that she had to have it lowered to compete, but the benefits of high T don't go away.

@AriDrennen The ruling doesn't only exclude transgender people, it would also exclude this particular person from competing in the female category, because of their DSD, because they aren't biologically female.

@estherzelda0514 That's what "choking during sex" almost invariably...means, though. You can do this or not, as a guy - but what people ask for is a light hand on their neck. People aren't doing actual BJJ blood chokes in bed. That...would be very dangerous.

Choking during sex is an incredibly stupid practice. You can get largely the same dominating effect by simply holding someone's neck, which is much less dangerous. One of my least popular opinions is that we need comprehensive and explicit sex/relationship education for children at various points during their development, and this should be standardized and not left up to parents. Too many people are giving themselves brain damage, STDs, or showing up at the ER with glass bottles up their ass. This could easily be corrected with better education that demystifies the whole sex thing. The taboo nature of sex is much to blame for a lot of these injuries, as many are too ashamed to ask for information before attempting something or to seek help when it goes wrong. We are a deeply prudish nation, and perhaps some may think thousands of brain damaged women is a fair price to pay for imposing their own moral hangups on others, but I cannot say I feel the same.

@HyloxalusF @LilithLovett Thats actually pretty similar to the Cohen's d for height. And even if the means are seperated that doesn't mean there isn't overlap, which could be like 30%

@NeedlesslyWordy @LilithLovett Put it another way. If you take a random male and a random female, there is ~90% chance that female will have a lower rib cage volume. It's really very sexually dimorphic.

@HyloxalusF @LilithLovett Yes and I think that just because subincision was practiced by Aboriginals during movement to make adulthood doesn't mean I don't think it's a terrible idea and even if it was part of the masculine gender for them is still something I would reject.

@NeedlesslyWordy @LilithLovett And yes, there is at least a part of gender that it related to a perception of yourself by other people. There is also a self-perception part. And a performance part. As well as many others. It's a complex sociological concept after all.

@HyloxalusF @LilithLovett Yes there is morphological freedom and people can do whatever they want, but that doesn't necessitate the transhumanist to think it's a good idea. I think getting a neuralink today is probably a bad idea but conceptually I don't have an issue overall.

@HyloxalusF @LilithLovett Men being taller on average though doesn't mean that their maleness is diminished by being shorter. A short man is not less male or less of a man and if someone thought that they would be the one with the problem

@NeedlesslyWordy @LilithLovett For the first question, yes, it is. C1s people can and routinely do get gender affirming care as well, they just often do not call it that way. And yes, being a man does, among many many other things, has a certain relation to height. It will be stupid to deny it.
