Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr Shisir Khanal received H.E. Mr Simon Ernst, Ambassador of Australia to Nepal, at the Ministry today. Matters of further strengthening Nepal–Australia relations and advancing mutually beneficial cooperation across key areas such as trade, education and development partnership were discussed during the call on.

Hon. Mr Shisir Khanal assumed office as the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal today. Foreign Secretary Mr Amrit Bahadur Rai and senior officials warmly welcomed the Hon. Minister at the Ministry. The Foreign Secretary briefed the Hon. Minister on the work of the Ministry and assured him of their continued dedication and commitment in carrying out responsibilities under his leadership. Upon assuming office, the newly appointed Minister took a decision to expand the online system of the Department of Consular Services to ensure more efficient and effective service delivery. The Hon. Minister also instructed the MoFA team to work in a more innovative and impactful manner, in line with the aspirations of the people.

The Embassy celebrated National Democracy Day 2082 in the presence of Nepali community in Islamabad. At the program, the Ambassador hoisted the national flag & read out the message from the Rt. Hon. President Mr. Ramchandra Paudel on the occasion of the National Democracy Day.

Ambassador Rita Dhital visited the headquarters of the Capital Development Authority in Islamabad today and held a meeting with its Chairman Mr. Muhammad Ali Randhawa. During the meeting, matters of mutual interests were discussed.

Happy to receive the delegation from the Army Command & Staff College of Nepal at the Ambassador's residence. The delegation is in Pakistan as part of Foreign Study Tour (Course-32), & the Embassy briefed them about Nepal-Pakistan relations & Embassy's major engagements.
