Mr. Thompson from the Farm Bureau spoke to students about life as a farmer. He spoke about his career, how weather plays a role in farming, & how technology has revolutionized the farming industry. This bridged a gap between what we are learning and the "real" world of farming.

Making history and inspiring futures! Jessica Day is the first Black mayor of Knightdale. A trailblazer, leader, and symbol of excellence during Black History Month and beyond. We are thankful for her leadership and commitment to our students and community! @KdaleNC @KdaleChamber

Reality of Money is one of our favorite events of the year. Students get to work through real life situations and see the importance of education and life long goals! Thank you the State Employee’s Credit Union and our community volunteers!

At the start of 2025, our student leaders welcome Dr. Taylor, @4LifeEducator, to Neuse River Middle School. They got to tell him about the opportunities they have had at our school and show him all the good work going on in our building. Come back any time Dr. Taylor!

December has been a busy month here! 1&2 - We had our very own research cafe! Our community came out to see our students present! 3 - Art performances by our band, dance, chorus, and theatre classes. 4 - Be Pro. Be Proud. for our students to learn hand-ons career training

Standing room only!!! Mr. Sheppard and his band students put on an amazing concert. 6th graders were teaching the audience about the parts of their instruments and 8th grade advanced band was showing off their skills! Well done Ravens! The Arts are thriving here at the River!

Class is back in session for our students AND teachers! Mr. Sovereign presented research on EL students and how to best support their learning. 🗣️Students learn best by having their first language available to them as they learn the content in their second language!

Thank you to Pam Bradford from the Bradford Group and Trevor Roberts from WCPSS TSL Grant for spending time with our staff today. They talked with our staff about investing, retirement, and TSL grant benefits for educator professional growth. Now that’s operational wellness!

Here at Neuse River we are taking care of our wellness by highlighting different points of wellness throughout the year. This month we are focusing on Occupational Wellness by having an Operational Wellness Event!

Congrats to Mr. Coysh and Ms. Corey for being recognized with WCPSS Employee Excellence awards for the month of November. There were over 100 submissions district wide and TWO Ravens were awarded! There is excellence at the River!

🍊CRUSHIN IT🍊 Ms. Moua is a new face around here and hit the ground running! Her students are enjoying her 8th grade ELA class and the energy she brings. Mr. Miller is our AD and keeps up moving smoothly through seasons all while teaching students healthy ways to live!

Our students are celebrating Native American Heritage Month by sharing important facts and NC history in the hallways for everyone to learn and appreciate. Proud to see them lead the way in honoring Native heritage and educating their peers! #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth

We’re incredibly thankful for the SEL kits provided for our students, filled with thoughtful items like fidgets and journals. These tools will help them manage stress, express themselves, and feel supported every day. Your kindness makes a real difference! #SEL @activategood

Our 7th grade Chick-Fil-A Leadership Academy hosted a lunch for service workers in our community! It’s our way of saying thank you for all that they do for our community. We’re grateful to share this time with the heroes who make a difference every day! @ChickfilA
