This fall's Northern Nevada METRICS - Mentoring Educators Teaching Robotics and Innovation in Computer Science - cohort met at DRI last night for day two of their training series. The PreK - 5th grade teachers learned how to combine reading and robots to teach computer science, math, and ELA standards. They brainstormed creative and innovative ideas about how to engage their students in hands-on learning to meet standards and to teach communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. @nevadarobotics was impressed! Awesome job teachers! #DiscoverDRI #WeAreNevadaRobotics #BooksandBots

@NevadaRobotics hosted a METRICS - Mentoring Educators Teaching Robotics and Innovation in Computer Science - workshop @discoverylv on Thursday. Teachers practiced using the @vexrobotics VEX 123 and storybooks to teach PreK - 5 computer science, ELA, and math standards. One of the storybooks used for the workshop included Where Are You From? Teachers went home with a copy of the book for each of their students. Great job, teachers! Happy reading, families! #DiscoverDRI #WeAreNevadaRobotics #BooksandBots

Robotics Camp at Great Basin College Nevada Robotics offered "Engineering & Exploration: Robots in space, the ocean, and on Earth!" camp at Great Basin College this week. Campers dove into the engineering design process with @VEXRobotics. They created designs with the VEX GO pieces to solve engineering challenges related to space, the ocean, and the Earth. Campers practiced how to solve real-world problems! #DiscoverDRI #WeAreNevadaRobotics
