@NifPro @sakkeeeOwO Sex intended for reproduction was not considered lust, God themselves states to Adam and Eve to go and reproduce and populate the Earth. Homosexuality was not considered as an orientation, but as an exclusive sexual activity

@lizardof_lies @sakkeeeOwO Sex intended for reproduction is still a sin (that's what natural sin is: that your born of lust and that everyone before you up to Adam and eve was also born of lust). Homosexuality does not imply sex and is therefore not a sin in the same way heterosexuality isn't a sin

The phrase “con permiso” (with permission) in Spanish seems based on mutual respect, but in reality is relic of its caste system. Many of the phrases & formalities in Mexico City originate from this system and the 1900s Porfiriato era. If you were from a lower caste, you needed permission to pass a Spaniard or an elite criollo. You were required to acknowledge the boundary between service class and the master class. You see a similar dynamic with the phrase “Mande” (Command me). It is a direct remnant of a servant-master relationship.

You can learn so much about a culture just by looking at the words they choose. When we squeeze past someone in the US, we instinctively say sorry or excuse me. It acts as a quick request for forgiveness for taking up space. Living in Mexico City introduced me to the beauty of “con permiso.” You are not asking for forgiveness, you are asking for their permission for the space you need. Navigating a massive city based on mutual respect rather than guilt is incredibly refreshing.

My only real "culture shock" with regards to Japan is the way people here will call the police to make a noise complaint instead of just, y'know, ringing the doorbell and asking for things to be a bit quieter.

Final note on DLSS5: Will folks PLEASE stop listening to influencers who have never made a video game in their lives tell you how video games should be made? They may make fun content. They might be fun to watch. But just because they are popular doesn't make them right. I watch a lot of YouTube, and I certainly don't go around telling folks how to make good YouTube videos.
