People will say "oh its a mystery, you're not supposed to know things", well the show has to at least do a good job in keeping me interested in finding things out, but all the show does is keep trying to bait you to keep watching, instead of actually doing something good

@BrianisSteve @_Twinndiesel Or it’ll be so “supernatural” based that it’ll feel like a let down. HOWEVER… all this is moot cause if you wanna watch the greatest “mystery” type show it is all about THE LEFTOVERS (also a LOST alum involved)

@NittyGrittyKity @_Twinndiesel i loved season 1, excellent and quite incomparable. but by the second half of season 2 it kind of sizzled out. the character drama became stale and the mystery barely moved. my personal experience - others might enjoy from anyways

@mincatily @Ike_fcb @_Twinndiesel Agreed. LOST was a game changer for tv and still one of the best shows ever. And in a world of 22-23 episode seasons it had more than enough great story for years. FROM just sorta spins in place. Prolly some government experiment/test gone awry or something.

@TheCinesthetic I believe it’s a tactical weapons satellite of some kind— not a spaceship. The cut shows the “original” weapon (the bone) utilized by humans and then the ultimate weapon millions of years later. But yes, of course one of the best cuts in history.

@Thebiglade Easy. LEFTOVERS, THE AMERICANS, BETTER CALL SAUL, SIX FEET UNDER. For mini-series CHERNOBYL, BAND OF BROTHERS and TRUE DETECTIVE S01 (which I count as mini-series cause it was originally intended as a one-off). HOMELAND, MR ROBOT and THE KNICK get honorable mentions.

@fwdaniels This show was watchable for a few episodes tops— and that’s being generous. I think somewhere in ep 3 when Sophie’s character turns to run and trips over a pile of cardboard boxes is when I gave up. Awful, audience pandering garbage. And the distracting music!

what i learned after living in america for half a decade is that not one single american cares about what europeans, canadians, australians, etc. think of them

I don’t think Americans realize yet just how much our standing has declined in the eyes of the rest of the western world. The majority of Europeans, Canadians, Australians, etc. see us as a slowly dying clown empire that have chosen to self-entertain ourselves to death.
