when i was in college, my dad started sending me $20 every friday.
not every now and then.
every single friday.
always with the same message:
"for pizza."
i figured it was just one of those dad things.
sometimes i'd actually buy pizza.
sometimes i'd spend it on coffee or laundry or whatever broke college students spend money on.
this went on for almost four years.
after graduation i got a job, moved out, and the friday messages stopped.
a few years later i was home for the holidays and somehow the topic came up.
i laughed and asked him why he was so committed to funding my pizza habit.
he looked confused and said,
"what pizza habit?"
i reminded him about the money.
he just shrugged and said,
"oh. that wasn't for pizza."
apparently when he was in college, there were a bunch of weeks where he skipped meals because he didn't have enough money.
he never told anyone.
not even my mom.
he said he figured if the money was labeled "rent" or "groceries," i'd feel guilty taking it.
but nobody ever turns down pizza.
i don't know why that hit me so hard.
maybe because i never once needed that $20 for pizza.
but there were definitely weeks where i needed it for something.

🚨 The first image of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya to emerge since his detention, taken during the ongoing proceedings before Israel’s High Court of Justice in Jerusalem, shows him visibly emaciated, in stark contrast to his appearance before he was taken into Israeli custody. His son warned this week that the life of Dr. Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, is in grave danger. He has been held in Israeli detention since December 2024 after refusing to abandon his patients in northern Gaza. The family says Israeli authorities transferred him to solitary confinement in Nafha Prison in retaliation for filing a legal appeal with Israel’s High Court. According to the family, Dr. Abu Safiya is being held in a two-meter cell, forcibly starved like thousands of other Palestinian prisoners, and denied basic necessities, including clean water, medicine, and access to his lawyer.

A boy touched this woman's daughter's butt at school . This happened to me and it ended quite differently.
I sat in front of a black guy my senior year of high school, that would also touch my butt or pat it. I warned him 3 times . He kept doing it. I stood up ... and slapped him in the face as hard as I could. The other students were all like " WHOAA"... some of the kids across the room that didn't see what was going on said " WTF was THAT?" when they heard it. The teacher called me up to the front of the room and asked me why I slapped him . I told her. Surprisingly, he was suspended, but I wasn't. He ended up not coming back after his suspension.
I can take alot . . BUT... I had enough that day.

🚨 I’m a Black man, a proud conservative, and a follower of Jesus Christ.
When I see protesters outside the Collin County Courthouse chanting “FUCK WHITE LIVES!” after Karmelo Anthony’s sentencing for murdering Austin Metcalf, my soul grieves.
This isn’t justice. This isn’t “community.” This is demonic hatred — plain and simple. All lives are made in the image of God. Every single one. Black, White, Brown — doesn’t matter.
Celebrating the loss of any innocent life, or cheering on evil because of skin color, is straight from the pit of hell.
And here’s the truth they don’t want you to say out loud: When Black conservatives, Christians, or truth-tellers like me call this out, we get labeled “traitors,” “Uncle Toms,” or “betrayers of the community.”
Let them talk.
I’d rather be disliked by some in my own community than stand before a Holy God and be found guilty of excusing evil, hating my neighbor, or twisting justice for racial points.
My allegiance is to Christ first — not color, not tribe, not political pressure.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil…” (Isaiah 5:20)
I choose truth over tribe. Light over darkness. God over man.

The dog was taken out for a day trip by a volunteer. When it was time to return, the volunteer tried to bring him back to the shelter, but he absolutely refused. He lay down in the car, his eyes pleading, clearly showing that he didn’t want to go back to the kennel anymore.
And then something wonderful happened — they found his forever family. The dog was adopted and never had to return to the shelter again 💗✨
