Python has one huge advantage: it is everywhere. Backend, scripts, automation, data, AI, DevOps, embedded experiments. Even if Ruby is your main language, Python is a very useful second language.

Web development teaches you abstractions. Embedded teaches you reality. Voltage, timing, memory, interrupts, wires, sensors, datasheets. Both are useful. Very different muscles.
