The original version of Shrek 5 begins right after the end of Shrek. Lord Farquaad, after being swallowed by the Dragon, discovers a magical object inside her stomach just before being digested. When he touches it, he’s transported to the real world, where he lives for years and eventually becomes the owner of a Universal-style theme park centered around Shrek. Meanwhile, in Far Far Away, Shrek’s daughter Felicia is preparing to attend a magic college. She’s practicing her spells and trying to impress her dad, who keeps brushing her off. In an attempt to prove she’ll be a great mage, she tries a new spell, but it backfires, sending her, Shrek and Donkey into the real world. Now stranded, they try to find a way back, but Felicia doesn’t know how to reverse the spell. Along the way, they encounter Farquaad and learn about the magical object that brought him there, realizing it might be their only way home.
