@Sagulagoon @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket This will lead to layoffs of some sort. I work in an area of education. We are getting similar cuts. Since much of the PD is required, we are just not rehiring for people that leave (passive layoffs) in order to afford the needed PD for the people that stay.

JUST IN: Democratic Socialist Nithya Raman, dubbed "the next Mamdani," is now projected to win the LA mayoral election. 60% chance she leads the City of Angels.

@Sagulagoon @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket Here is what he is cutting in education. Also Mamdani was against the fed cutting off ineligible people from healthcare, but he is apparently cool with doing it. Pretty much everything else is a negotiation so no guarantee.

@Nothsonv1 @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 1. If that’s true then every city in American history is running on bailouts. 2. Are the “experts” in the room with us? 3. Still false, try again.

@Sagulagoon @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 1. State bailout 2. Not in place, experts warn it won't bring in taht much 3. Ah yes the biggest savings targeting education, removing people from health plans 4. part of the 1.5 billion already committed by the state.

@Nothsonv1 @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket Congratulations you’ve just tried to bad faith your way to “mamdani is actually spending more money” You’re unserious, and don’t even live in NYC so your opinion doesn’t matter 😭

@Sagulagoon @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket You should look into this. These are mostly being filled by AI companies riding the AI bubble. Few companies will completely move out of the city, but sown size instead.

@Nothsonv1 @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket So you blame the budget being in a deficit entirely on him but everything developing under him isn’t him? Double standards… But your claim doesn’t actually hold up lol.

@Nothsonv1 @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket Like I’ve said, that’s where Albany is supposed to do their job. Also his budget is LOWER THAN THE CURRENT ONE WITH ALL OF HIS PLATFORM IMPLEMENTED. Lower as in the spending decreased? Lower as in exactly what you’re whining about?

@Sagulagoon @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 2. Amex negotiations started in 2024. JPmorgan is shrinking the NYC workforce with the CEO active stating they were moving more and more out of the city. The deal for the new building was signed back in 2018. It was not a new thing under Mamdani.

@Nothsonv1 @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 1. Pointing out noting of note because every city does that. And NYC basically is NY state’s economy. They’re just asking back money they already give the state. 2. Lmao tell that to JP Morgan or Amex building shiny new offices or all the startups in the city.

@Sagulagoon @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket They are. NYC is seeing a population loss, expanding welfare, are over spending. These are the exact same causes linked to the 1975 financial crisis.

@Sagulagoon @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 1. Not unique, just pointing out that he literally cannot do anything without begging for the state to bail him out (ie pass the buck to non NYC residents. 2. They are. There is a continuing trend of companies moving more operation to souther states. /1

@Nothsonv1 @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket First time I’m hearing of lowering a budget deficit as “continuing overspending” Also increasing welfare is a good thing, not to mention treating population loss like its mamdanis fault is laughable. Every major city is facing population loss in North America.

@Sagulagoon @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 1. Because it relies on getting other people's money. It is why he is begging the state. 2. Why then are corps moving more and more of their operation out of NYC then? AI companies (a now overcrowded market) are the majority of office leases. 3. Circumstances are.

@Nothsonv1 @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 1. If that’s the case why is his proposed budget lower by billions 2. You’re poor and don’t know how the wealthy operate. Why would you move states uprooting your family, businesses, etc. over like a 1.5% tax increase on your wealth? 3. I don’t think 60 years ago is comparable.

@Sagulagoon @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 1. His policies will just add to it. 2. Yes it is just passing the buck. The money has to come from somewhere. Any new taxes on ricj will be passed onto the consumers. 3. Yes, but the closest similar was 1975, caused by pop loss, welfare increases, and overspending.

@Sagulagoon @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 1. No hence why sayinga proposed plan has already lowered something is something you should not say. 2. This is one of those things that just shifts it from upfront to down the line. 3. He's begging the state to bail him out. Asking for other people money.

@Nothsonv1 @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 1. Do you think mayors have the ability to get budgets passed by themselves? 2. Mamdani is already making cost of living cheaper through providing universal free childcare, junk fee crackdowns, and landlord insurance. 3. No shit? What do you think a budget proposal is?

@Sagulagoon @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 1. Proposed plans can't already lower a deficit as proposed mean not in place yet. 2. people leaving NYC due to cost of living. Mamdani will not make it cheaper. Companies are already shifting to places outside of NYC. 3. Everything he has put in place costs money, money NYC lack

@Nothsonv1 @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 1. Mayor Adams did that, mamdanis proposed plan has already lowered the deficit by more than half. 2. No one is actually leaving NYC over mamdani. 3. He didn’t… maybe stop making baseless claims.

@Sagulagoon @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 1. his policies just add to it, not fix it. 2. He's accomplished begging for money and chasing net positive tax poayers out. 3. He literally put these in knowing that they cannot be funded. It is peak irresponsibility as a leader.

@Nothsonv1 @BigKahunaPlays @Polymarket 1. Mamdani didn’t create or increase the budget deficit 2. Mamdani has accomplished more in his short few months as mayor than the previous one did in his entire term 3. He has already delivered on universal childcare and several quality of life initiatives in the city
