The Senate Democrats' proposal for a Millionaires' Tax devotes 6-7% of revenue to tax relief. It has to be a lot more. We need to make Washington more affordable for working families. That’s my North Star.

@GovBobFerguson How are you saying that and at the same time introducing a highest tax increase in Washington states history? Very very simple question. Just asking for a friend.

This is disgraceful. Thai social media influencer Gun Jompalaing is circulating images of himself holding torn Cambodian soldier patches and presenting them as a joke. In the context of an active conflict, this comes across as mocking the deaths of Cambodian soldiers. Turning symbols tied to loss of life into content for attention is deeply disrespectful. It fuels hatred, hardens public opinion, and pushes the situation further away from restraint or de-escalation. This behavior should be clearly and publicly condemned by Thai authorities.

As of 12:00 a.m., December 22, 2025, Thailand has conducted 23 airstrikes on Cambodia, destroying military targets and civilian infrastructure, including primary schools, pagodas, and bridges (bombings listed below). The Thai airstrikes are unanswered. Cambodia does not have its own fighter aircraft or any surface-to-air defenses. The conflict has resulted in the displacement of 518,611 Cambodians.(1) Thailand also reports 213,072 people displaced out of precaution from Cambodian artillery fire.(2) Khmer people are suffering. The Thai provinces along the border are populated by Khmer people, such as Surin province, which is estimated to be at least 63% Khmer.(3) Thailand agreed to an unconditional ceasefire on July 28, 2025, pressured by U.S. President Trump. President Trump oversaw the signing of the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord by Thai Prime Minister Anutin and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on October 26, 2025. However, on November 10, 2025, Thai Prime Minister Anutin announced that Thailand was suspending the peace accord.(4,5) Anutin’s public reason for cancelling the peace accord was that four Thai soldiers were injured by a landmine on a jungle path in disputed territory on November 10, 2025.(6) However, Anutin is influenced by political calculus. Anutin, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party (“Thai Pride Party”) became prime minister on September 5, 2025, with the help of the much larger People’s Power Party which called for a referendum on the constitution to shift power from the unelected Senate. Anutin falsely agreed to support a referendum as October 1, 2025.(7) Anutin’s November 10 cancellation of peace accord occurred only after he was aware that he would face an election. On November 5, 2025, Anutin himself stated “If we can’t win the political game, we’ll dissolve the House”.(8) Early elections became even more certain for Anutin on November 9, 2025, when the People’s Party demanded an extraordinary session for constitutional amendment, rejected by Anutin.(9) Adding to Anutin's desperation, his approval rating dropped from 48% to only 23% following the slow response to floods in Southern Thailand from November 21-24.(10) The commencement of war with Cambodia on December 7, 2025, strategically positioned Anutin for reelection ahead of the dissolution of parliament on December 12, 2025. @Sasirin0x @caseydbarnett The way Cambodia governs is definitely a problem. The people of Cambodia are the ones that truly suffer. With that being said the only way for the country to have any hope for a brighter future is by changing its approach on governance to start.

In 1941, Thailand invaded Cambodia and later declared war on the United States and the United Kingdom.¹ In 2025, Thai accusations that Cambodian soldiers fired across the border are again being used to justify an ongoing Thai invasion of Cambodia. Similar claims formed the basis of Thailand’s 1941 invasion of Cambodia. Then, as now, Thailand’s military action was intended to annex Cambodian territory. Despite full knowledge of Japan’s genocidal conduct in China, including the 1937 Nanjing Massacre in which approximately 200,000 civilians and prisoners of war were killed, Thailand entered into a treaty with Japan on June 12, 1940.² This agreement laid the groundwork for Japan’s subsequent occupation of French Indochina and British Malaya. After ratifying the treaty, Thailand invaded Cambodia and Laos in January 1941, claiming that French colonial forces in Cambodia had fired across the border into the Thai town of Aranyaprathet. In reality, Thailand had been preparing for invasion for months.³ Within weeks, Thailand forcibly annexed northern Cambodian provinces and western Lao territories.⁴ In December 1941, Thailand and Japan concluded a further agreement providing for mutual military support, with Japan explicitly backing Thailand’s territorial claims covering annexed areas of Cambodia, Laos, Malaya, and Burma.⁵ This agreement secured Thailand’s role as a logistics hub and staging ground for Japan’s conquest of British Malaya and Burma between 1941 and 1942.⁶ In July 1943, Japan rewarded Thailand for its cooperation by transferring to it six provinces of British Malaya and Burma.⁷ During this period, Thailand facilitated and materially benefited from Japan’s use of forced labor to construct the Burma Railway, linking Bangkok to Yangon.⁸ Among the enslaved laborers were 30,131 British and 686 American prisoners of war. Of these, 6,904 British and 131 Americans died as a result of brutal working conditions.⁹ Following the Allied victory in World War II, Thailand was compelled to relinquish all territories it had annexed in Cambodia, Laos, Malaya, and Burma. Britain initially sought punitive measures, including extended occupation of Thailand and potential control over the Thai Isthmus.¹⁰ The United States, however, opposed harsh postwar treatment, arguing that severe demands would destabilize Thailand and the wider region.¹¹ As a result, Thailand faced limited accountability for its wartime territorial aggression. Now, in 2025, with little apparent collective memory of the consequences of its earlier irredentist ambitions, Thailand is once again invading Cambodia. References 1Thai declaration of war:

@ChanthouUy Thai military wants this war. It’s their generals that want to take power so if there is an active war then the military can keep power within their government. The Thai people on the other hand are just doing what they are told. No real threat just misinformed and acting wild.
