➡️ UPDATE: Federal Reclassification of Marijuana Today, the U.S Department of Justice issued a final order to reclassify marijuana at the federal level. OMMA is actively monitoring this development and working with partners nationwide to understand what it means for Oklahoma. The move from Schedule I to Schedule III could strengthen OMMA's mission to protect patient health and safety through expanded research opportunities. "New research findings have the potential to redefine how medical marijuana is grown, processed, tested, sold, recommended and consumed,” Berry said. ➡️ TOMORROW: Advisory Council Meeting and Public Rally OMMA is aware of a public rally taking place tomorrow at the State Capitol and Connors Building following the regularly scheduled Advisory Council meeting. The agency respects Oklahomans’ right to peacefully assemble and engage in the policymaking process. As a reminder, OMMA is an executive branch regulatory agency that implements state laws as directed by Oklahoma voters, the Legislature and the Governor. Oklahomans are encouraged to contact their lawmakers with any concerns regarding proposed or passed legislation. ➡️ Compliance Inspections Update Although OMMA is not required to provide notice prior to compliance inspections, the agency intends to give commercial licensees a seven-calendar-day window during which they may expect a routine compliance inspection to occur.
