COIL was honored to host a delegation of Ukrainian MPs through the Open World Program.🌀 They met with 25+ Members of Congress in D.C., joined events with U.S.-Ukraine BC & GMF, and are now in Norfolk, VA for follow-on programming—hosted by the Norfolk Sister City Association.

In memory of President Carter, we at COIL wanted to share this 2000 letter from our founder James H. Billington to James Carter III about @FriendshipForce, and a 1999 photo of Carter with an early COIL delegation hosted by the Friendship Force in Atlanta. His legacy lives on.

COIL hosted Open World alumnus and Ukrainian Parliamentarian Col. Roman Kostenko in DC. We organized meetings with 13 congressional offices & 5 think tanks. Here, he briefed policymakers on Ukraine-Russia war efforts. Proud to help keep Congress informed on Eurasian issues. 🌀

Last week, we celebrated 25 years of fostering connections between Congress and leaders worldwide! From impactful programs like the Ukraine-U.S. partnership to reflections on state-to-state diplomacy, the evening highlighted COIL’s role in advancing international cooperation.🌀
