ppl seem to misunderstand this ep as katara reluctantly accepting her destiny. the lesson here was not "destiny doesn't exist" but rather that you have the power to shape it. katara was destined to marry *a* powerful bender but she had the choice of who.

@Ochamani I don't know if I'm being demanding, but I expected Toph to apologize first because throughout the whole discussion, Toph was the one who was wrong. It felt very contrived to agree with Toph

something I like about the rift comic is how it sets up conflict between aang and toph. I think their personalities clash the most out of everyone in gaang. Especially since toph is someone who wants to avoid her past and approaches future possibilities openly, aang embraces his

@Ochamani She's still disrespectful, which is understandable given her trauma, but that doesn't give her the right to trample on other people's wounds. The Air Nomad culture is important to Aang, but she didn't do anything more that needless to say, they were dead.
