This is a milestone moment for the next generation of family physicians and an important one for the health of our country. Family physicians are at the heart of health care in rural towns, urban neighborhoods and everywhere in between. You show up for newborn visits and end-of-life conversations. You manage chronic disease, deliver babies, support mental health, advocate for prevention and help families navigate an increasingly complex health system. Where there are people, there are family physicians working to make communities healthier. To every new family medicine resident: we are proud of you, and we are ready to support you. The AAFP is here at every step of your journey, from advancing policies that strengthen primary care, supporting your well-being and providing career and leadership resources so you can thrive in whatever path you choose.
