@JustAFamilyMan_ And they choose the conveniently most easy and (immediate) consequence free thing to do: not vote.
They still pay taxes. They still actively participate in funding this themselves (we all do) while acting like not shading in a bubble on a ballot is the thing that makes them pure
English

@JustAFamilyMan_ It’s unbecoming of any adult to decide they just won’t make a decision because they don’t get what they want 100%.
And I am someone who AGREES we should not be funding the genocide in Gaza.
English

I think you all are evil. Pure and simple.

Same. Gavin will lose just like Kamala did. That's a promise. Dems can't win without us. Who is us? Good people.
English

@UsingLyft @JustAFamilyMan_ practical effect be more likely to be that professional programs just keep sticker prices the same and fill their seats with types of students that have family money to cover that gap?
English

@UsingLyft @JustAFamilyMan_ Ah ok - but that hypothesis has always rested on some pretty unrealistic assumptions, no?
First of all, the vast majority of students borrow under the caps already.
And then on the high end of the market (where there is real impact) demand is way less elastic - wouldn’t the

Elections have consequences unfortunately. smh

🚨 Trump’s student loan cuts are hitting young people like a shock wave. Incoming law & medical students are just now finding out that federal loans will only cover half their costs. Now millions will be forced into predatory private loans just to get a degree.
English

@JustAFamilyMan_ This is the start of lowered tuition. It’ll be rough up front for some but this is the only way to lower the tuition. Do you need me to explain how to you?

@AthletesInSpace Here’s what you’re missing: Iran CAN’T win to a MAGA. They’ve already decided. No physical reality will change their minds.
They will eat up whatever propaganda they have to.
Gas could be $8/gal and missiles could be landing in Utah and it would just be “all part of his plan.”
English

@JustAFamilyMan_ It always makes me chuckle how this stuff is so “radicalizing” for them, and then their “radical” reactions to this “problem” is to just whine online and start being marginally more racist than they already were.
Real revolutionaries we have here.
Like just go to a game! 😂😭
English

You are a dork. MAGA are such losers. Thinking they cannot enjoy a day at the ballpark in any city. 😂
Brandon Gill@realBrandonGill
A world my generation never got to experience. Our country declined so much in just a few decades, and it’s utterly radicalizing.
English

@VDAREJamesK Your assumption is wrong. The legislative branch has a very powerful tool for pushing back within the legal structure: legislation.

@lydiakauppi truly grateful everyday to live here.
But to hear some people talk you’d think it was a war zone 😵💫
English

@lydiakauppi Grew up in a small Midwest city and moved to an even smaller city for law school.
I’m glad I never bought into the “cities are scary” propaganda; it was definitely all around me. Lived in LA, now Chicago.
Two of the most unbelievable places in the world to make a life. I feel

The right wing male ethos is fascinating. There’s a massive emphasis on being as masculine as possible in every scenario except for one specific topic, for which it is accepted and even celebrated to act pants-shittingly terrified

Bloomberg: "the energy industry is warning that the crisis is only beginning. In conversations with more than three dozen oil and gas traders, executives, brokers, shippers and advisers over the last week, one message was repeated over and over: The world still hasn’t grasped the severity of the situation.
...If the strait stays closed, the world will have to significantly reduce its oil and gas consumption — but not before prices spike to a level that forces consumers and businesses to fly, drive and spend much less."

@lawheroezV2 that — as you point out — it’s important to remember the incentives here.
They’re selling a product.
English

@lawheroezV2 And I like the point about the incentives in tech: they are trying to sell a product. Much of the discourse is not rooted in any real, informed philosophy; it is sales.
And I’m not even saying they are “wrong” for that. Or even that they are “being deceptive.”
It’s just …

Unpopular opinion: Legal IS special, different, and difficult. Even for AI models.
Why? Because plausibility isn’t enough. Quality and accuracy really matter. Their names and reputations are at stake. And you can’t bull shit lawyers about what they need for their work. We can smell bull shit miles away.
English

@lawheroezV2 AI can (and should and will) change how legal work is done.
I absolutely welcome the enhanced ability of clients to use AI to gain their own understanding before engaging with legal counsel.
But I see something very different than “replacement” coming.
English

@lawheroezV2 …commodity part of the work was already commoditized.
Lots of folks see a text generation task (“it’s just words, and since I can read, I can do it”).
I see a more complicated social coordination function.
