Adds a slight additional element of excitement for when there is a big deviation, is in line with how the rest of the point would be played, and can save plenty of wasted dead time when players line back up

@Stillmanator All I’ve heard is “he’s gone looking for it” and my answer is “yeah, and he’s got it”. But agree, I don’t like or want VAR, so in the general world, I don’t want this decision re-refereed cos I can see why the referee doesn’t give it. Overall though, I think those are given 8/10

I think it’s a pen because there’s no rule saying a player has to get out of the way when a player impedes him or sticks a leg out. I think Saka would have to make a big evasive action to avoid Neuer’s leg, even if he does play for it.

My take on the potential Saka penalty is that there are loads of calls in football where ‘giving it’ and ‘not giving it’ are both totally explicable and I’m not sure why we have to pretend every call is black and white.
