If you stand on the surface of the Earth, parallel to where the spaceship is located, and draw a line between the center of the Earth and the ship, pointing up becomes up, which is what they are referencing when they say it's X kilometers up. They are NOT referencing the distance from the perspective of the spaceship but as someone standing on the surface of Earth. Retard.
