@RobertMilne4 @Neptunedrones This is oil seed rape , it works on GAI index. Week spots need more N to achieve a full canopy. Strong parts do not benefit from excess N. Therefore the goal is to get a full canopy all over the field.

@Neptunedrones Do you put more fert on the areas that yield well cause that is the productive part or more on the poor areas to level up??

Oilseed rape 2025 going in , with companion bean pea sunflower white clover buckwheat and linseed ,€24/ac for companions but well worth it for just soil health benefits never mind cash crop benefits 😁

@dillontom All mine is rape and spring oats , won’t justify baling them anyway. Straw chopping was a key factor in choosing spring oats. Never seen as much anger as there is with this! His reputation will not recover from this!

Cancelling the SIM is no guarantee of any extra straw on the market. There is no analysis from dafm on what crops is in the SIM. The only guarantees now are that farmers will be out of pocket and an environmental measure has been undermined and trust in the minister is gone.

This 8 variety winter wheat mix ready for its final spray of melted urea trace elements lactobacillus and biofertiliser , one fungicide and 118 units won’t break any records here but grown for €155/ac less than Teagasc input figures . Will live with that .
