1989 Blustery day at Stradey Park, a fly-half's nightmare: Llanelli vs New Zealand

TV football & cricket commentators now seem to talk incessantly. I get that this is, of course, necessary on radio. It’s not, however, when we have pictures. Are they acting under instruction? If so, who issued those instructions? It badly damages the viewer experience.

Neil Sedaka, an irrepressible songsmith who parlayed his compositional skills into pop stardom during the height of the Brill Building era in the 1960s and later staged an easy-listening comeback in the 1970s, has died at age 86. The chipper melodicist was known for hits such as "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do," "Calendar Girl," and "Laughter in the Rain." latimes.com/entertainment-…

Possibly one of the greatest images ever captured.

Glamorgan Cricket is saddened to learn of the passing of John Williams, aged 84. A founding member and the driving force behind the St Helen’s Balconiers, John dedicated more than five decades to supporting Glamorgan Cricket in Swansea and beyond. 🔗 bit.ly/4aZWU9W

We could write reams of text on the man, but they all get eclipsed by this painting of the man by @jackrussellart Michael Holding. Breath taking. Brilliant. Art by an artist. Link to image: jackrussell.co.uk/shop/originals…

This is Malcolm Nash of Glamorgan, the bowler off whom The Greatest famously hit six sixes in an over at Swansea in 1968 - left armer Nash was no dud either, with 993 career wickets at 25.87 and was a fair hitter himself - more than once his name was talked up for an England cap
