If it takes you years to make that film and you finish it, you’ve done it. You made a film. Don’t let time stop you. It’ll keep going anyway. Very proud of any filmmaker starting and finishing a film.

I grew up reading magazines, the newspapers, actually engaging in the news with older people in my family. I am used to sharp incisive, challenging journalism, and it feels like we don’t have that because people are afraid to hurt people‘s feelings or lose access. It’s limiting.

The studios are going to watch us during the opening weekend of You, Me & Tuscany. They want to see if an original screenplay does well. They want to see if a Black rom-com does well. I know we can show up and support this movie. This is the movie that we have been waiting for.
