Many people don’t know that in my era, during my Three Olympic Games, gymnasts were never allowed to march out with team USA in the opening ceremonies. Here I am with my kids at our own “opening ceremony”, making up for lost time!! Look closely as my son is holding an Olympic torch, and even the Labubu got in on the action with my Gold Medal. Go USA 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

@IvanaDGreco Hmm. Not sure if there is desktop version but if they are old enough to have a phone or iPad, I highly recommend brainscape. There are some premade decks you can download but you can also make your own It uses smart review based on how well you know cards to aid retention

Question: looking for a nice program to do flashcards on the computer. Any suggestions? One son is memorizing state capitals and I’m wondering if we can skip paper flash cards.

Deeply troubling & dehumanizing when able-bodied people imagine what it's like to be disabled, don't bother to consult any actually disabled people, & decide it's a fate worse than death. Yet continually that's the process I see when people defend abortion for "fetal anomaly."

I took a long hiatus from X. Had a nearly-fatal sepsis scare this fall, but thanks to my quick-thinking wife, I made it into and out of the hospital with my seventy-four-year-old life… and nine-and-a-quarter toes remaining. For this I’m very grateful in the New Year. I may only post occasionally, and will work on replies to the DMs I missed. Meanwhile I thank you all who follow here and read my books. This account follows many of you back, and when I do sign in, I enjoy seeing your posts, what you think and care about. My favorite stories are about good people doing good… and it’s heartening to see how many of you are those people in real life.

Does everyone’s cat wake them at 2 am because they want to play in the sink and go for a walk outside or that just my boy’s special brand of weirdness? I consented to turning the faucet on for him. But a 2am pleasure stroll is where I draw the line.
