Sadly, there’s been a collision near the west gate which we’ve been told will keep outbound traffic lanes closed for 4-6hrs.

@RegF_RCAF Luckily, he can sleep in the trailer with me, Emma and the dog. All is ok and we are already laughing about it. Although we may not be laughing when the chili he ate for dinner starts to work.😳

After enjoying a fine meal of chili and burgers from one of Algonquin's restaurants (in the Jeep), we drove back to our campsite in the pouring rain and found this.... That little tent is where Alex sleeps. Good thing he put up the tarp! #WeGetOutside

@algonquin_lakes Recolection could be wrong but according to our staff that stayed there, the campsite at Hilly Lake was nearly impossible to find.

Love the “Thunderhouse” on Big Trout Lake...

It's what's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner: Bark, sticks, and twigs. During winter, #beaver visit their submerged food caches to retrieve fodder. These complex stick piles can be habitat for aquatic animals. Ever resourceful, leftovers can be used for lodge+dam renovations!

Bats are getting bad press lately, but we should remember how beneficial they are. When active, Little Brown Myotis bat will consume 50% of its body weight every night. A nursing bat must consume over 100% of their body weight daily to survive; thats about 5,000 mosquitoes! #bat

@algonquin_lakes Nearly always forget to pack chapstick.... and regret it every time.

What’s the worst thing you’ve forgotten to pack for a trip? For me I’d say it’s a five way tie between a map, my flashlight, a spare paddle, sunscreen and toilet paper. Actually, eff that. It’s the toilet paper. God help you if you forget the toilet paper.
