I'm breaking my Twitter fast to share this for friends and admirers of Helen De Cruz (formerly @helenreflects on here). She been a shining light in our field for so long. This looks like a wonderful way to celebrate her life.

@RobertTalisse Of course not. You just write a logical axiom and ask if there are any questions. If the answer is no, then you dismiss class. That's how it's done.

I've been a full time philosophy prof for 25 years and I've never walked into a class and written some word in huge letters on the board ("DEATH," "LOVE," "EVIL") like they always do in movies . . .

@omgTrex22 It boggles my mind too. I keep seeing people reference the clip of John McCain calling Barack Obama a "good man" in a town hall without realizing that this was an extreme outlier moment for a GOP that was obsessed with the Clinton body Count, birtherism, and overt racism.

@ProfJRadisson I’ve always thought of Light Sleeper as one of the best ones though I haven’t seen it in probably 20 years. I think I finished Schrader by finally watching Touch but there may be one or two obscure ones I’m missing.

The arc here is two flights and then hotel cable.

@strohltopia Yay! Such a great film. As for The Canyons, it was definitely better than it's reputation, though I did greatly prefer Light Sleeper of the two new Schraders I watched this week.
