@ProfZaigham @YasirQadhi Not as I like, you know very well that it is an occupation and I do not know what your background is or if you are Muslim or Jewish, but only the Arabs, regardless of their religion, are the people of the Levant, and you know that the occupation government is not Arab,

The Prophet (SAW) said, "عليك بالشام، فإنها خيرة الله من أرضه، يجتبي إليها خيرته من عباده" meaning: "I advise you to go to Syria, for it is of Allah's choicest lands, and His most blessed servants are chosen for it" [Abu Dawud]. The blessings of Sham are so numerous that many scholars have written treatises about them. May Allah protect the innocent people of that land from their tyrannical ruler, whose family has wreaked havoc on its people and brought destruction on millions of innocent civilians. Our hearts and duas are with our brothers and sisters in Syria. May Allah show us justice against the tyrants in this life before the next!

@ProfZaigham @YasirQadhi Israel is not Levantine. Israel is a Western colonial power that occupies Palestine. Mentioning it and recognizing it in part of the Levant is disgusting, and no Muslim would say that. The hadith was mentioned at a time when Israel will no longer exist.

@Nour89109139 @YasirQadhi We are talking about Al-Sham as mentioned in the Hadith. Borders have changed numerous times since then. The modern day Israel as a state was established only in 1948.

It is the countries who approach them and agree to their condition. Let's blame the countries who find themselves in dire financial situations.

@CraigMokhiber Great news. Historic and much needed ruling/opinion but unfortunately has no legal binding, although has huge political implications.

The World Court has just rejected all Israeli, US & western objections, ruled that the Israeli occupation of Gaza & the West Bank, including East Jerusalem (and all settlements), is entirely unlawful & declares Israel is committing racial segregation/apartheid in the OPT.

@sXahir Good people can never succeed in this system. Only mediocre and corrupt will.

Many people I meet are highly disappointed and disheartened with the way country has been run which has created unliveable conditions for most classes. But actual disappointment lies in the poor quality of ruling elites; politicians, judiciary, govt, bureaucrats and businessmen. These are certainly not the people one can look up to for taking this country forward. Pakistan must rebuild its human resource base at all levels. The starting point is implementing merit in decision making and appointments, with ruthless accountability. How will this happen? Don’t give partisan answers as I have seen extremely poor governance by all major parties in the last three decades. There are no exceptions.

The UN Security Council approved a US-sponsored resolution calling on Hamas to accept a ceasefire proposal, with 14 votes in favour and one abstention from Russia. The US says Israel has already agreed to the deal.

@palinfoen There's been a lot of talk over sevaral decades of 'two state solution' but Israel never ever accepted this. Even now in the post war plan, Israel is adamant that it will have full security control over occupied territories
