Fresh air, great conversations and inspiring young people Today we were joined by students from The Emmbrook School who are part of the Premier League Inspires programme with Reading FC Community Trust for a special wellbeing walk with Walk Works at Green Park. Students used the opportunity to speak with professionals about career journeys, experiences and advice, while also sharing their experiences of the Premier League Inspires programme. A huge thank you to Walk Works for leading a fantastic route and creating such a positive, welcoming environment, and to Green Park for kindly providing the goodie bags. Thank you as well to everyone who joined the walk and helped create such meaningful and positive conversations. Real experiences. Real stories. Real inspiration. 👏 #PLInspires #MoreThanAGame #Wellbeing #ReadingFCCT @PLCommunities

Two teams. One historic day. 🌈 The Rainbow Royals Queens and Kings took part in @HampshireFA's first ever Love Wins Cup — a 7v7 tournament celebrating LGBTQ+ football and they made us proud. The Queens fought their way to the Final through a dramatic penalty shootout, before losing 3-0 to Saints Foundation. An amazing achievement to get there. 👏 The Kings went all the way — lifting the Plate trophy in their Final. Champions! 🏆 @HampshireFA #RainbowRoyals #LoveWinsCup #HampshireFA #InclusiveFootball

KICK START YOUR STORY – COMPETITION LAUNCH Today we’re celebrating World Book Day with Premier League Inspires and Royals forward Jack Marriott to launch our brand new creative writing competition — “Kick Start Your Story.” This exciting initiative has been created by a Premier League Inspires cohort at The Wren School, who are featured in this video alongside Jack Marriott as they help launch the competition and encourage young people to share their stories. We’re inviting young people aged 11–18 to create a piece of creative writing about Mental Wellbeing. Your submission can take any creative form, including: 🎤 Lyrics 🎶 A song or rap ✍️ A poem 📖 A fictional story 📝 Non-fiction writing 💬 A personal narrative Jack Marriott is helping to kick off the initiative and shares why reading and creativity are so important for building confidence both on and off the pitch. What can you win? Competition winners will receive an exclusive opportunity to bring their story to life in our music studio, turning their writing into a recorded song track with accomplished local DJs. 🎶 Plus, other prizes will be announced soon. Through “Kick Start Your Story” we’re encouraging young people to: - Put pen to paper - Express themselves through creativity - Take part in our mental wellbeing writing competition Because confidence isn’t just built in training — it’s built through creativity, expression and finding your voice. A huge thank you to Jack Marriott and the students at The Wren School for inspiring young people to believe in themselves both on and off the pitch. How to enter: Email “KICK START YOUR STORY” to inspires@readingfc.co.uk to sign up. "What does a career in football coaching actually cost to start?" £160. That's the price of the FA Introduction to Coaching, First Aid, and Safeguarding qualifications, the minimum requirements for employment at Reading FC Community Trust. Phil Stafford who last ran a half marathon PB of 1:57:40 at Wokingham, and last year completed the Thames Pathway Ultra Marathon has been with the Trust for 10 years. Teacher. Coach. Someone who has quietly supported hundreds of young people into sport. He's fundraising so that a young person who can't afford £160 doesn't have to miss their chance. The target is £200. That covers the course and the marathon entry that made this fundraiser possible. Anything above £200 doesn't disappear. It funds the next young person through the same pathway. One donation. Potentially two careers started. 👉 justgiving.com/page/runforcoa…

Well done to all students from St Crispin's School, The Emmbrook School and The Wren School who took part in the Premier League Inspires Challenge – Dragons’ Den style heats! 👏⚽ Students have been working incredibly hard to develop innovative ideas linked to Inside Matters - Supporting young people’s mental wellbeing and designing meaningful Social Action projects that truly matter to them. Every presentation was inspiring, thoughtful and empowering — a real credit to the passion and commitment of everyone involved. Alongside their pitches, students enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the Select Car Leasing Stadium and took part in fun football sessions inside The Dome — a brilliant experience both on and off the pitch. We now have the very difficult task of selecting one winning group to represent Reading FC at the Premier League Inspires National Event, hosted at Hill Dickinson Stadium, home of Everton FC, this April. Watch this space as we announce the winning team soon! 🌟 #PLInspires #MoreThanAGame #ReadingFCCT #InsideMatters @PLCommunities @PremierLeagueFoundation

✨ Scan to Smile ✨ The EFL launched a brilliant initiative in January to beat the blues and celebrate the incredible work of Football Club charities, including Reading FC Community Trust. Supporters at the Royals' home game scanned QR codes to discover uplifting real-life stories of people positively impacted by their local club charity. We were proud to share Lincoln's inspiring story. Lincoln is a Make-A-Wish child who attends our Trust's alternative provision RAP once a week, where he connects with other young people and enjoys sports activities. Watch the video to hear from Lincoln himself as he shares how much he enjoys attending the Trust. 💙 Football is so much more than what happens on the pitch. It's about community, hope, and changing lives every single day. @EFL_Community @ReadingFC

🌟 PL Inspires Success Story 🌟 We’re so proud of our former PL Inspires participants who have continued to thrive even after completing the programme 👏 🗣️ Mr Nunez, St Crispin’s School - "This term, they’ve shown fantastic resilience, made consistently positive behaviour choices, and enjoyed a really strong term in school." 💪📚 As a reward for their hard work and commitment, Reading FC Community Trust provided tickets to watch Reading FC’s 2–0 home win against Burton ⚽🎉 Moments like this show that PL Inspires doesn’t stop when the programme ends — we continue to support and celebrate our students as they grow and succeed 💙 #PLInspires #MoreThanAGame #ReadingFCCT @PLCommunities @PremierLeagueFoundation

🌟 Premier League Inspires Challenge 2026 – Youth Voice in Action! 🌟 We’re incredibly proud of the students from St Crispin’s School, who truly led the way by putting their ideas into action. 💬✨ As part of the Premier League Inspires Challenge, the young people suggested a visit to Green Park, wanting to test whether their social action project could work in a real-world setting ahead of their presentation. @Green Park went one step further — welcoming the group to their headquarters for an incredible experience. The students presented their ideas to Site Manager @Andrew.P and @HannahDacre, who took the time to listen, answer questions, and provide thoughtful feedback. They even showcased a model of Green Park, helping bring the young people’s vision to life, before sharing reflections on the group’s Wellbeing Trail concept ahead of a Reading FC matchday. 🏟️🌿 Moments like this highlight the power of youth voice — when young people are heard, supported, and trusted, their confidence and impact grow. 💙 A huge thank you to @GreenPark for their commitment to our projects and for showing just how vital local businesses and community partners are in shaping meaningful experiences for our students. We’re so proud of how these young people are developing their ideas, skills, and belief that they can make a difference. 👏 #PLInspires #YouthVoice #MoreThanAGame #ReadingFCCT #StCrispinsSchool #SocialAction #MentalWellbeing #CommunitySupport #LocalBusinesses #LifeSkills
