The entitlement of the ‘big clubs’ and the attention they garner never ceases to amaze me. When Manchester United found themselves floundering in the first half last night against #LUFC, shell-shocked by Noah Okafor’s double; they resorted to throwing themselves to the floor and begging the referee for handouts. Cunha got a yellow for diving. Fernandes’ got a yellow for non-stop begging and dissent.. Martinez got a red card for pulling Calvert-Lewin’s hair. ManchesterUnited have every off-field benefit stacked in their favour against Leeds. Revenue that is multiples of the Whites, ground capacity, training facilities, wage bill - it all dwarfs Leeds. But they have to resort to cheating when things don’t go their way. Under 10s know that diving is cheating, that you have to respect the referee and they also know that pulling someone’s hair is a red card. So for their club-captain and manager to come out after the game and bemoan the referee - and for that to dominate the media narrative - rather than the brilliance of Leeds United and their tactics is a stunning display of entitlement and faux-injustice. A tug on the hair is a red card. Now can we talk about Leeds United’s history-making performance?

United were terrible and deserved to lose but the point is the game is in a horrible mess where the refs don’t know what decisions to give week in week out.

@danmellett They’ve been doing this for the last 2-3 months it’s criminal that they offer tiny cash outs for bets that have already won. No doubt if pressed they will say it’s an app glitch. They’re quick to reset a bet as in-play if VAR rules out an action that means it won temporarily.

Every player knows tugging hair is a red card. It was brief and stupid from Martinez. Officials got it right. Can’t see basis of Carrick complaint. Leeds deserve to stay up. United bit rusty perhaps.

This is why I advocate for all fan bases (apart from Man City or Liverpool who seems to benefit more than suffer from these idiot refs) to complain against the @FA_PGMOL.

The force of DCL’s hand into Martinez’s face was greater. Ffs the whole game is soft and refs choose when to enforce the rules by game.

How a hair pull is worse than players that back into players who are in mid air and end with them landing dangerously which is never punished is mad.

@StokeyyG2 Yes but that’s the point, it’s 50/50 whether the refs give a card let alone a red. Players live on these margins and you can’t blame them when the refs in this league are as inconsistent as the strait of Hormuz.

Before this decision gets called ridiculous by the timeline, it’s happened that much in the game recently that you’re actually stupid to do something like that.
