I had been living in London for 7 years of my life. I loved it. The architecture, the incredible people, the food. Everything was so beautiful. I’ve had to make a tough decision, though. I can’t live there anymore. It’s not the city I moved to years ago. The beautiful vibes have been replaced with an air of criminality and danger in so many parts. Sure, there are nice neighborhoods… but you need six or seven roommates to afford them. As much as I hate to say it, it’s not safe for a girl like me to live there any longer. I’m saying goodbye to the city I once called home. On to a new chapter.

In the sacred temple of justice—where Blackstone once warned that it is “better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer”—Judge Kandice Pickett has inverted the scales entirely. Instead of shielding the innocent, she has unleashed the accused. Steven Tyler Whitehead, 27, stands charged with the cold-blooded murder of 18-year-old Kimber Mills, a radiant Cleveland High School cheerleader and track star with dreams of the University of Alabama. At a bonfire party in Pinson (“The Pit”), after a petty fight, Whitehead allegedly drew a gun and fired 12–17 rounds into a crowd of 40–50 teenagers. Kimber tried to intervene. She was shot in the head. Another teen took ten bullets. Three others were wounded. Prosecutors begged for no bond under Aniah’s Law—the very reform born from the murder of Aniah Blanchard by a killer who never should have been free. Judge Pickett, a Democrat elected in 2022, ruled the State failed to prove Whitehead was a “danger to the community.” She set $330,000 bond. He walked. This is not mercy.
