Queens Borough President Donovan Richards has been a relentless advocate for The World’s Borough, fighting for working families, immigrant communities, safer neighborhoods, climate resilience, small businesses, public schools, libraries, hospitals, parks, and the infrastructure our communities deserve.
From Southeast Queens to Western Queens, Donovan understands that our borough’s strength comes from its people. As Borough President, he has helped deliver major investments across Queens, launched the Immigrant Welcome Center at Borough Hall, supported small businesses, and continued to champion a borough where every community has the resources to thrive.
Here’s what he shared in support of our campaign:
“Steven Raga has shown what results look like. He’s battle-tested, and he’s willing to go into the room and fight for the people who are too often left out and the least among us. He’s shown that diversity is our strength here in Queens, and he’s been on the front lines in every battle I can think of. He will not bow to ICE, and he will not bow to any authoritarian agenda coming out of Washington. He’s going to fight for what New York can do in Albany to protect our communities. Now we’ve got to do the work, knock the doors, make the calls, and build the coalition that wins, because once Steven gets to the State Senate, he’s going to be a force of nature for Queens.”
I’m honored to have the endorsement of Queens Borough President Donovan Richards in this campaign for State Senate District 12, and proud to stand alongside a leader who fights every day for the people, families, and future of Queens.

Steamfitters Local 638 has been building, maintaining, and powering New York for generations.
I’m proud to have the support of the Enterprise Association of Steamfitters Local 638, a union with deep roots in New York’s labor movement and a history dating back to 1884. Today, Local 638 represents skilled workers across New York City, Long Island, Nassau, and Suffolk in both the Construction Branch and Metal Trades Service Branch.
Their members perform essential pipe fitting work across our buildings, infrastructure, energy systems, and major projects. They also fight for the standards every worker deserves, including good union jobs, strong wages and benefits, safe worksites, clean energy jobs, and protections against wage theft and exploitation.
I’m honored to stand with Steamfitters Local 638 and the union workers building a stronger, safer, and more sustainable New York.

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth and the long fight for freedom, justice, and equality.
As we honor the end of slavery in the United States, we also recommit ourselves to the work that continues: protecting civil rights, confronting racism, and building a New York where every community can live with dignity and opportunity.
Happy Juneteenth.

New York City is HOT 🥵 and it’s not just because of the @nyknicks or the World Cup.
As temperatures climb this afternoon, learn how you can stay safe in extreme heat this summer and become a fan for climate justice—as well as for the Orange and the Blue: advocate.nyc.gov/blog/fans-cool…

As a proud PSC-CUNY union member and CUNY graduate, I’m deeply honored to have the support of the Professional Staff Congress.
PSC-CUNY represents 30,000 faculty and staff across CUNY. Their members teach, advise, mentor, research, organize, and keep the nation’s largest urban public university running for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers.
CUNY changed my life, and I know what it means for working-class students, immigrants, first-generation students, transfer students, and nontraditional students to have access to a public university that opens doors. That promise depends on fully funded campuses, fair contracts, dignified working conditions, and real support for students, faculty, and staff.
I’ve been proud to champion the New Deal for CUNY because public higher education should be treated as a public good, not a budget line to cut. That also means protecting the right to free speech, protest, and peaceful assembly on campus, because our universities must remain places where students and workers can learn, organize, challenge power, and fight for a better future.
I’m proud to stand with PSC-CUNY in the fight for a fully funded, accessible, democratic, and just CUNY for all.

Local journalism is public service, and the workers who keep our neighborhoods informed deserve dignity on the job.
I stand in full solidarity with the journalists and staff of @SchnepsUnion as they organize with @newsguild for livable wages, affordable health care, and a fair contract.
A stronger union means stronger local journalism — and stronger communities.

New York’s plumbing trade has always been tied to public health, safe buildings, and the basic infrastructure that allows our city to grow.
I’m proud to have the support of UA Plumbers & Gas-Fitters Local 1, a union with roots going back to the early fight for organized labor in New York City and the founding of the United Association in 1889.
Local 1 represents nearly 6,000 skilled plumbers and gas-fitters working across industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. Their members protect the systems our communities depend on every day, from clean water and safe gas lines to sanitation, heating, and major construction.
Western Queens deserves infrastructure built and maintained by trained union workers. I’m honored to stand with Local 1 in the fight for good jobs, strong safety standards, and respect for the workers who keep New York running.

I joined Ridgewood Rides for a community bike ride through Ridgewood and nearby neighborhoods!
What began as a small group of friends and neighbors has grown into a strong community effort for safer, more connected streets. I’m grateful to ride alongside residents who are organizing around the gaps people experience every day, from Rust Street and 56th Road to Woodward, Metropolitan, Eliot, Cypress, Cooper, and Decatur.
Everyone deserves to move through our neighborhoods safely, whether they bike, walk, take the bus, drive, or use a wheelchair. Thank you to Ridgewood Rides for welcoming me and for continuing to build community around safer streets.

IBEW Local 3 helped build the modern labor movement, and its members continue to power New York every day.
Local 3 represents more than 21,000 electrical workers across New York City and the surrounding region. These are the skilled union workers who keep our homes, schools, hospitals, transit systems, public buildings, and major infrastructure connected, safe, and running.
Under Harry Van Arsdale Jr., the union fought for groundbreaking protections like a shorter workday, collective member housing, and one of the nation’s first employer-funded pension plan for construction workers, setting a standard for what workers can win when they organize together.
I’m proud to have the support of IBEW Local 3 in this campaign. Western Queens deserves a future built with union labor, strong safety standards, family-sustaining wages, and real respect for the workers who power our city.
