Thereโ€™s not much we can do to change the reality that the biggest beneficiaries of AI will likely be entrepreneurs and investors. For example, while using a robotaxi might save me some money, the savings wonโ€™t be particularly significant as to be a complete game changer for me. The real winners will be the owners of these automated services, as robotaxis will be far cheaper to operateโ€”primarily because they eliminate the largest business expense: the driverโ€™s salary. I believe the worst-case scenarioโ€”short of AI going full Skynet and creating terminatorsโ€”is that it will replace humans in most professions and outperform us. This would leave the majority of people without meaningful work, resulting in a loss of purpose and direction. We could find ourselves living in a โ€œWall-Eโ€-like world where we do nothing with our lives, mirroring the dynamics of the TV show Benefits Britain but on a much larger scale. While some individuals may adapt, finding new purpose and thriving, many will likely spend their days aimlessly scrolling through platforms like TikTok, disconnected and unfulfilled. That said, one area where the general public might genuinely benefit is through humanoid robots designed to handle menial chores like cooking and cleaning. This could free people from time-consuming tasks, improving quality of life. Beyond that, though, I donโ€™t see traditional AI (excluding superintelligence) providing much direct benefit to the average person. Some things will be done more effectively and faster however we will lose far more of ourselves in the process, such as the ability to drive, speak a foreign language, interact with other humans, paint a picture, etc However, thinking further into the future, and probably beyond my time, if we ever achieve genuine AI super-intelligence, it has the potential to advance humanity in ways we can scarcely imagine, unlocking possibilities that could transform our understanding of the world and our place in it.

In the meantime, in "the young Ukrainian democracy" life proceeds as usual. Their Nazi Right Sector much prefers to fight the Kiev homosexuals than the Russians troops. See how many able-bodied young men are out where eager to defend their country. They feel quite safe to come out in numbers knowing full well Russia won't bomb them.

This is nonsense, and deep down you know it. I was in Mykolaiv only a short time ago when Russia bombed a public park, killing and maiming children. I visited the site afterwards. The bodies had been removed, but the blood remained. Seeing the aftermath with my own eyes was profoundly disturbing. What troubles me even more is the willingness of some people to ignore or minimise such atrocities. History has shown how dangerous it is when people look away from suffering and convince themselves that what is happening is either justified or not really happening. That kind of wilful blindness has appeared before, and it never reflects well on those who choose it. The reason Ukrainians continue to go about their daily lives despite the constant threat of missile strikes is not because they are indifferent to the danger. It is because they refuse to surrender their country, their identity, or their freedom. They continue to work, raise families, and rebuild because they are determined not to be intimidated into submission. Whatever oneโ€™s views on the politics of the war, the reality is that ordinary Ukrainian civilians are paying an enormous price, yet they continue to endure and resist in defence of their independence in face of the barbarity and mindless cruelty of Russia .

It is bizarre that some you cannot see the parallels between Nazi Germanyโ€™s invasion of the Soviet Union and Putinโ€™s invasion of Ukraine. While no historical comparison is perfect, the similarities are striking: a larger power launching a war of conquest against a neighbouring nation, expecting a rapid victory, only to become bogged down in a prolonged and costly conflict. The symbolism is also difficult to ignore. The โ€œZโ€ symbol has become a ubiquitous emblem of support for Russiaโ€™s war effort, functioning as a political and military insignia in much the same way that the swastika became a symbol of militant nationalism and expansionism in Nazi Germany. While the symbols are not equivalent in meaning or history, the visual and propagandistic parallels are certainly noteworthy. It is time for Russians to wake up and divest themselves of this rotten mess in their soul because they have this need for violent colonisation of their neighbouring countries.

Today, June 22, is the 85th anniversary of the Nazi invasions of the Soviet Union. The German Nazis set out to implement their genocidal program of extermination the majority of the population - to leave space for the "superior" Germans. The number of murdered civilians in the USSR stands at 18M and counting. Today's Germany seems to have settled on the same path. Pretexts are different; attitude's the same.

How can Putin be described as prudent? He launched an invasion of Ukraine expecting a rapid victory, yet after more than four years Russia controls only a relatively small portion of Ukrainian territory. Rather than demonstrating strategic wisdom, this suggests a significant miscalculation of both Ukraineโ€™s resistance and Russiaโ€™s own military capabilities. Putin appears to have relied on generals and advisers who overstated the strength and readiness of the Russian armed forces while underestimating Ukrainian resolve and Western support. The result has been a prolonged and costly conflict that has inflicted substantial losses on Russiaโ€™s military, damaged its economy, and increased its international isolation. Despite these costs, Putin remains focused on securing incremental territorial gains in Ukraine. Whether this persistence reflects determination or strategic stubbornness is open to debate, but it is difficult to reconcile the outcomes of the war with the idea of prudence.

Am I the only one feeling that Putin believes that Europe would eventually hit Russia from its own territory inviting retaliation? And then even Putin, prudent as he is, would have to retaliate.

Ukrainians are the cattle and cannon fodder for a Western imperial war against Russia. Kyivโ€™s Western โ€œpartnersโ€ value it as nothing more than a battering ram against Russia. Those who deny this are either lying or deluded.
