@SamsonCorwell @The_5thEstate How in the world is that the case? How is shielding people from the consequences of their actions ever a good thing?
English

@Rationaliber @The_5thEstate Incoeporation and limited liability are good.
English

@avidseries Yep. Libertarian. And regardless, you seem to genuinely try to be honest, which counts for more than politics.
English

I have a mix of conservative, liberal and centrist followers. It's not possible for me to tweet without making a decent percentage of my followers angry.
But I'm wondering if you are in that very small percentage of my followers who find yourself agreeing with my tweets at least 80% of the time.
If you are, please reply in the affirmative, and provide a brief description of your political orientation, if you don't mind.
English

@The_5thEstate Pretty much my entire political philosophy in a nutshell.
English

@Mithrandir48 @politicalmath Also, Obama is in fact on there.
English

@Mithrandir48 @politicalmath This is measuring engagement, not followers.

The partisan lean on Reddit is much worse than this. I guess an ecosystem is only "broken" when the red side can be heard
Nate Silver@NateSilver538
These are the Twitter/X accounts with the most engagement so far in 2026. I suppose I had some intuition for how bad it was, but jeez, this is what you get when the ecosystem is broken.
English

@IsaacKing314 Arg, got me. Still, that was my guess. What’s the answer?
English

@Tapper0917 @LibertyLockPod You know, if we had not attacked Iran, maybe they wouldn’t have attacked back and killed your buddies?
English

@LibertyLockPod Unfollow ~ you're a weak bitch. A bunch of my buddies are dead because of EFPs. Courtesy of your Iranian regime. Fuck you and everyone that sympathizes with the death cult.
English

@LibertyLockPod I don’t think he’s at all insane. This is both on-brand and required by actions he’s taken in the past.
English

@TheHumamist @Hitchslap1 No. Actual tankies embrace the label.
English

@NateSilver538 @nikitabier This seems to be what humans do, in every medium ever.
English

A (super cute!!) pet photo from Catturd™ gets literally 50x the engagement of a link to incredibly important original reporting from the NYT on Iran. According to your own on-site numbers @nikitabier. Do you consider this to be a desirable outcome?

English

@politicalmath That would be a fair critique against someone other than Nate Silver.
English

@SamsonCorwell @MadelaineLucyH Oh, absolutely. But note that such men are hardly rare. Self-aggrandizing strongmen are quite common as world leaders, and the Constitution was specifically designed to ensure that no such could come to power, or do much damage if they did.
English

@Rationaliber @MadelaineLucyH I figured out the best comparison for him. theguardian.com/world/2006/dec…
English

@xwanyex Sure, but to a libertarian, our “interest” is “the long-term benefit of society.”
English

One of my core political beliefs is that not only does nobody vote against their own interests, but the idea is basically incoherent and thinking otherwise has deranged a lot of people’s politics
eigenrobot@eigenrobot
@JDHaltigan everyone is a rational actor you just have to identify his context and his objectives to understand it
English

@SamsonCorwell @MadelaineLucyH My already low opinion has degraded significantly. (Still not back BTW)
English

@Rationaliber @MadelaineLucyH Anyway, what do you think of Trump since the last time we talked?
English

@SamsonCorwell @VivaLaBlane @hellokittybebop @rawdawgcomics @BobaCyclist That was an answer to “why do people keep listing korea as one of america's bad wars?” It is *not* an answer to “why does North Korea still suck?”
English

Rational Libertarian (ai/nke)@Rationaliber
@perdricof The carpet bombing of North Korea destroyed 85% of buildings, and resulted in a continual hatred of and fixation on America that continues to this day. Think about that: 85% of all buildings in the country, gone. More ordnance was dropped by us than in all of WWII.
QME

The amount of propaganda you’ve ingested and internalized is what’s crazy.
What makes KJU crazy? Did he start a war? Did he slaughter Palestinians in refugee camps? Bomb an Iranian school full of little kids?
Deprogram your brain.

Kim Jong Un feeling upset that he's no longer the world's craziest dictator. He's not even top 3 anymore.
