I never really understood the attack on tariffs. Maybe someone can explain. In principle, tariffs do one simple thing: Make imports more expensive → make it more competitive to build here in the U.S. Which should mean: More domestic production More jobs Stronger middle class So I’m confused. I thought Democrats were focused on the working class. And Republicans were historically more aligned with globalization and outsourcing. So why is it flipped here?
