I don't think viewers realize but streamers love when you let us know something doesn't work properly on our streams. Whether that the audio of the game we play isn't loud enough, the screen is completely black or our mic is muted for whatever reason and forgot to turn it back on. We really appreciate it when you help us with scuff, even if we don't show it sometimes!

Time to binge watch horror movies (I hate them please save me hold me I'm scared)
Anish Moonka@AnishA_Moonka

Your brain has a โ€œwandering modeโ€ that kicks in when youโ€™re not focused on anything. In depressed people, this mode gets stuck on repeat, looping the same negative thoughts over and over. A 2025 brain scan study found that horror movies temporarily break that loop. Researchers scanned the brains of 84 people with depression before and after showing them horror clips. The part of the brain responsible for replaying bad thoughts disconnected from the part that decides what to pay attention to. The bigger the disconnect, the more the person actually enjoyed the movie. Your brain canโ€™t replay your worst memories when something on screen is trying to eat someone. But scarier isnโ€™t always better. The same team tested 216 people and found a sweet spot. Fear and enjoyment rise together, but only to a point, then enjoyment drops off. People with moderate depression needed a harder scare to hit that sweet spot. People with severe depression barely felt anything at all. A 2021 study surveyed 310 people during the first COVID lockdown. Horror fans reported less depression, less anxiety, and better sleep than non-fans, even after the researchers accounted for personality differences. People who watched zombie and apocalyptic movies specifically said they felt more prepared for the pandemic. Margee Kerr, a sociologist at the University of Pittsburgh, put brain sensors on 100 people before and after sending them through an extreme haunted house. About half came out in a better mood. Their brains had calmed down the same way a runnerโ€™s brain calms down after a long run. When you get scared, your body dumps dopamine (the โ€œrewardโ€ chemical), endorphins (natural painkillers), and adrenaline all at once. When the scare ends, the comedown feels good. Mathias Clasen, who runs the Recreational Fear Lab in Denmark (yes, thatโ€™s a real lab), splits horror fans into three types: people who watch for the adrenaline rush, โ€œwhite knucklersโ€ who push through fear to prove something to themselves, and โ€œdark copersโ€ who straight up treat horror movies like medicine for their anxiety or depression. The catch: you have to choose to watch. Thatโ€™s the whole thing. Being forced into a scary situation doesnโ€™t help, it makes things worse. People with severe anxiety can become more jumpy, not less. A University of Wisconsin study found kids under 14 who watched horror had a higher chance of developing anxiety as adults. 93% of 1,600 Danish kids enjoy at least one scary activity according to a 2025 study, but the line between helpful fear and harmful fear comes down to one thing: whether youโ€™re the one holding the remote.

Hey everyone, Im currently running a emergency donothon starting today and will keep it going till I can reach my goal. First of all, Huge thanks to @Calistalize for the gfx for this, please go follow and support her. Secondly, why am I doing this some may ask. Awhile ago me and my family were very unfortunate to have our car taken and impounded by police when they did a California sweep. Despite us having it registered and up to date, the place we used to do that ended up being a scam and our stuff was never properly updated, and honestly we need all the help we can get. One thing about me is Ive never been the one to ask for help financially for things, i dont even let my friends pay for my meals or if im treating them out, Im trying everything i could to earn enough for something but even my main job is cutting my hours because of my lack of transportation and frankly we cant keep spending $250+ a week on ubers, groceries from doordash/instacart, and walking hours away to get basic necessities. Truthfully it pains me to have to ask for help but, im at my wits end here, I wanna do whatever i can to help get us out of all this. Even $500 can get us a cheap used car as long as it gets us to where we need to be, i dont want anything fancy or new, we just need reliable transportation. Even if you cant help financially, sharing this post, lurking in stream, and such also help a ton. I appreciate anyone and everyone who does support as best as they can ๐Ÿฉท TL:DR - My family lost our car due to a registration scam, and now weโ€™re struggling without transportation. Itโ€™s affecting my job and costing us a lot in rides and deliveries. I hate asking for help, but we really need itโ€”about $500 could get us a basic car. Even sharing or supporting in small ways helps a lot.
