@jakeremover Right it’s the most blatant moment of victim turning into an abuser we see with Laurent. His desire for revenge against his uncle is literally turning him into another abuser before our eyes.

it kinda baffles me that sometimes readers will jump to simply rationalize/justify Laurent's verbal tirade against Aimeric without seeing it as an intentional and startling reminder- (to Damen and the reader) -of Laurent's capacity for cruelty.
