Yesterday, I got into an Uber and everything felt normal… at first. Driver greets me, I greet back. Cool. About 5 minutes into the ride, he suddenly goes, “So… how long has it been?” I’m like… huh?? I laugh it off. “Sorry?” He looks at me through the mirror and says, “You know… since everything happened.” WHAT happened??? Now my brain is racing. Did I forget something? Did I do something?? 😭 I just go, “Ah… it’s been a while.” Because what else do you say in that situation?? He nods slowly like we just shared trauma. Now I’m SCARED. The rest of the ride is silent… but tense.
