Did you know 1/4 of car and van trips in England are under 2 miles? Some short journeys do need to be made by car, but many can be walked or cycled instead. Choosing #ActiveTravel for short trips where possible is better for health, good for the environment & can save money too.

@BBCPanorama @BBCOne @BBCiPlayer Very shocking - lots of people dehumanise anything outside of their armoured vehicle. Is the problem the attachment to cars and percieved personal space as most motorbike riders give the same stories as cyclists. Car drivers are also the biggest killers of pedestrians.

@jwgcoombs The gas works have dragged on and on - Cadent are now redigging holes and parking / leaving their gear so both sides of the pavements on side roads are blocked. Gas is and will always be a fossil fuel and is being phased out for home heating. Work not needed?

NB the @MayorofLondon has (as of Jan 2022) a target of 27% reduction in traffic volumes in London (from 2018 base) by 2030. Vital to deliver this as it will have huge benefits for London #VisionZero goals (no deaths or serious injuries on London's roads by 2041) too.

@jwgcoombs The boundary fence with the cemetery is purposely being left unrepaired with holes for wildlife. Once the hedges planted by Hounslow and Richmond mature along there the fence will be removed to permanently remove barriers which cause a lot of harm.

Last Friday's opening of Jubilee Meadow by LBRuT's mayor. A gain for our community by local Lib Dem Councillors - pity Labour Hounslow can't seem to repair their fence on the boundary of this great addition to Heathfield Rec.
