Here’s what I’ve noticed over time: whenever the algorithm is being updated, changed, etc by integrating AI there will also be layers of unintended changes like glitches or bugs. Sometimes the issue needs a patch and other times we have to wait for the AI to learn like the overflagging situation last year in Sep-Nov. Elon mentioned last year after the AI integration of the recommendation algorithm around September-October that he’d be updating it again and publishing the code afterwards. He then posted the other day about how he will be publishing the code next week. Anytime there are changes like this users of the platform get caught up in the unintended consequences especially when depending on an automated system. The ghost ban in particular looks like an automated system mass flagging everyone for spam like behavior. Most have been cleared of their ghost bans by now. There will continue to be waves of automated issues like this as long as there are changes being made to the algorithm. It’s always best to know the rules of the platform you’re using but also the changes being made to it. If you’re aware of the possibility of platform-wide glitches and automated issues then it’s easy to fact check this. Wait about a day (you’re waiting for platform-wide complaints) and then ask Grok if he has seen a platform-wide wave of issue xyz. Grok now reads every post on X. If something like that is happening all over the platform he usually knows about it. Once you know what the problem is you can move accordingly. I just know I’ll get questions in the comments about the mass sensitive content label issue (yes, I see you all in my DMs) but I stopped working on labeled pages for a reason.
