England need to come out in this 2nd half and play like the bigger, better, and stronger team they are. That first half was well below their usual standards. Now they must deliver a real statement performance.

When Jude Bellingham is in the mood, there are few players on his level in world football. The elegance to finish that, the mentality to not celebrate after going behind and the character to give Gordon the credit. Unbelievable player.

Madueke is often left unmarked on the right with acres of space, yet he’s barely seeing the ball. England need to feed him far more, especially with long balls.

Stones, Nico O’Reilly and Guéhi are all Haaland’s club teammates. I don’t doubt their professionalism, but I do wonder whether they’ll stay 100% locked in, and strike fear in Haaland. Ten years ago I wouldn’t have given it a second thought. Today, you’re never quite sure.

First time watching soccer, this player looks really sharp and Spain's best player. Who is he?

I don’t know what to say about Mikel Merino, lol. But one thing is impossible to deny, the guy consistently delivers clutch goals. He’s the most reliable player when your team desperately needs a moment of magic. Always stepping up when it matters most. Wow.

Lionel Messi. 2007; Loses Copa America to Brazil 2010; Loses the WC to Germany. 2015; Loses Copa America to Chile. 2016; Loses Copa America to Chile. He hit rock bottom, retires and comes back. 2021; Wins Copa America. 2022; Wins World Cup. 2024; Wins Copa America. 2026; (Dominating the World Cup) When he was losing, you didn't mention FIFA. Now that he's winning, you are mentioning FIFA. Hated for losing and hated for winning. It’s lonely at the top.

Saka, Rice, Ødegaard, and Madueke. Martinelli too and next season, potentially Guimarães and Rodgers. That’s seven specialist set-piece takers. What we’re still missing, though, is genuine aerial threat. Aside from Kai, Gabriel, and possibly Merino, we’re relatively light on reliable set-piece converters. We need to add a player in the mould of Sven Botman, Dan Burn, or James Tarkowski, a commanding, physical CB who dominates in the air and turns dead ball situations into goals. We simply cannot afford to ignore this department any longer. Guimarães is already a strong header of the ball, but one more dominant aerial presence could make us significantly more dangerous from set pieces.

Sure, but there comes a time where every club might have to bend the knee to get a player they deem to be integral to the project. I’m sore Real Madrid didn’t want to pay as much as they did for Jude, same for Kane at Bayern. Liverpool didn’t want to pay the fee for Wirtz or Isak.

Newcastle should also remember that Arsenal is not a club you can manipulate. Brighton tried it with Caicedo. RB Leipzig tried it with Sesko. Shakhtar Donetsk tried it with Mudryk. All of them demanded inflated fees, tried to provoke bidding wars, or played games to squeeze every last penny or a combination of all three. In each case, we simply walked away. We are desperate for Guimarães, but not desperate enough to be taken advantage of. Accept our third bid. It’s the best and cleanest option for everyone.

Arsenal are not a thug club. We have never forced another team to hand over their key player or played dirty to get our way. We allowed Rice to stay at West Ham for an extra season purely as a courtesy, giving them time to prepare for his departure. We did the same with Zubimendi, letting him remain at Sociedad even after we had already agreed a deal to sign him. Newcastle can rest easy, there will be no foul play from our side. We want this deal done properly, respectfully, and the right way, the Arsenal way.

@FabrizioRomano “I apologize and I'm going to fight for our dream of returning to the top of the world.” The last line always hits hard. No doubts Vini, you are going to do everything in your power to bring Brazil where it belongs.

🟡🟢 Vinicius Jr statement. “Almost four years later and once again thinking about what to write after a frustration in the World Cup. I saw so many people of all ages supporting me, embracing our dream, that it would be unfair to remain silent. But I needed a few days to reflect. Wearing the national team jersey is the greatest pride of my life, and leaving a World Cup in the round of sixteen is a feeling that's hard to explain. I know how much I prepared, how much I focused, how much I wanted this for you, for my family. The feeling of frustration is absurd. We had a group strong enough to do more, and we couldn't. I apologize and I'm going to fight for our dream of returning to the top of the world.”
