Economist by day. Tired by night | Views are obviously personal

At Aspen, Economist editor-in-chief Zanny Minton Beddoes laid out her vision for โthe day afterโ: โIsraeli security first and foremost,โ followed by โsome kind of autonomyโ for Palestinians. But she made clear she shouldnโt be mistaken for someone calling for an equal Palestinian state. And said it should not be run by the PA but by a โless corrupt, more effectiveโ body that manages โsome form of self-government.โ

The U.K. has no permanent land-based system to intercept high-altitude ballistic missiles, Sky News reports, as Iran demonstrates potential range of 4000 km in launches targeting the U.K. base (used by the U.S. military) at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.

Am I the only one who found the Economist cover a bit melodramatic and jumping the gun? Israel still has full US backing and other countries and is not under nearly enough pressure to stop the war. You know who is alone? Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem

Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka all very exposed:
