When Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) was introduced, the goal was less about true empowerment and more about punishing the white community, a very small minority in South Africa. In reality, genuine transformation never happened. Today, the poorest, the unemployed, the unskilled, and the uneducated are still overwhelmingly Black. Instead of enacting policies that merely turned former trade unionists and political activists into multimillionaires and billionaires, South Africa needed sound economic strategies. Instead, it got the BEE scam, which locked down the economy, halted production, and choked progress.
