I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, who is an incompetent leader and a disgrace to our democracy. She wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area and has brought her reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot and killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.

Democrats put forward a bill to keep TSA, FEMA, and other essential agencies funded, but Republicans won’t pass it. They’re blocking critical funding to keep the government running, including paying TSA workers. I am still fighting to make sure they get paid.

Monday’s ruling affirms that science must guide our public health decisions, not politics. I’m grateful to the @ameracadpeds for standing up for our children & for the doctors & experts who keep families informed. We must protect vaccines & keep our kids safe.

ICE and CBP were supposed to target the “worst of the worst.” Instead, they’re illegally detaining and deporting our immigrant neighbors and even US citizens. People’s free speech and due process rights are being violated. None of us are safe under Trump’s DHS.

Food insecurity pushes too many Americans toward cheaper, less nutritious food. The health consequences are real. We spend $1.1T each year treating diet-related diseases. While Trump pushes reckless policies that make it worse, I’m fighting for a bill to prioritize nutritious food and lower health care costs.

My thoughts are with the residents of Kankakee County and all communities impacted by this week’s tornadoes, high winds, & hail. I’ve been in touch with local officials and will do everything I can to support recovery & rebuilding. We will get through this together.

Families across Illinois are grappling with the affordability crisis, which affects everything from rent to groceries to childcare. Prices are rising, and paychecks aren’t. It’s time to address the costs for real American families and end this crisis.

Last summer, the Trump DOJ cut $800M+ in public safety grants nationwide, including gun violence prevention programs. As temperatures rise, violence often rises too. President Trump is making our communities more dangerous. I will keep fighting to restore this proven & effective funding.
