I can't believe its been 24 years. I remember this so vividly. I was traumatised by this at the time and, as a new father, I'm even more traumatised now. Imagine, just imagine, hiding behind a tiny wall, shielding your child for dear life, while for 40 minutes soldiers shoot to kill you both, finally killing your child with a bullet to the stomach, as you sit there, helpless, holding your bleeding, dying child, knowing that could do nothing to protect them and knowing that you can do nothing to save them. Knowing they're gone forever and that you must bear that pain for the rest of your days. The man lived on.... only to lose his other son and brothers in an Israeli air strike in Gaza recently. The man is Jamal al-Durrah. His son was Muhammad al-Durrah. Know their names. Israel have cultivated an environment where only blood, war and vengeance can prevail. Israel is not a nation of peace. Not for its own people, not for its neighbours and not for the people they subjugate and oppress on their own land.
