I keep getting tagged in this, so let’s get down to business. Is this dangerous? Only a little. Not as much as you may think. This is a secondary explosive, meaning it requires something more sensitive to set it off. This is the future. In a battlefield with contested logistics, harvesting HE will be (and is) commonplace. Everyone should be paying attention to what has to be done when supply lines are unreliable.

I found some autunite pieces pretty enough to put into containers.☢️ I have not stabilized them because I did not want to interfere with the alpha readings (since alpha particles travel only a short distance and can be blocked by a thin layer of coating) which would reduce what a detector can pick up at the surface even though the material itself is still radioactive. People usually stabilize specimens like this to prevent flaking, reduce dust and preserve the crystal structure, especially for fragile or radioactive minerals.
