@AcademicChatter This, exactly! Seems legit but actually is so difficult... allowing yourself to write badly. Also, allow yourself to understand badly... e.g when reading. I need no less than 4-5 reads, including one read several weeks later, to properly and fully understand a paper.

Writing tip. Create a bad first draft, a first draft is not supposed to be perfect. Use your first draft as an opportunity to put your thoughts on paper. Then concern yourself with editing after you have all your thoughts written down.
