🚨| Red Bull urged to consider Max Verstappen ban outside F1: — Juan Pablo Montoya has suggested that Red Bull should halt Max Verstappen's participation in racing events outside of Formula 1. This follows a tragic accident at the Nordschleife during the Nurburgring 24 Hours Qualifiers, which resulted in the death of driver Juha Miettinen. Verstappen was also involved in the event as he prepares for his debut in the 24-hour race next month. Montoya expressed his concerns on the MontoyAS podcast: “I have a question about this. I know that what happened is terrible. Do you think Red Bull would reconsider what permission they give Max to race those cars?” “No, because they are afraid of losing him.” — When asked if Red Bull should impose a ban on Verstappen racing outside of F1, Montoya was emphatic: “100 per cent. No, sorry. 200 per cent.” “There could be an accident, he could break his leg or arm.” “The money that Red Bull has invested in him should be enough reason to say, 'Look, we gave you the chance, but with this accident we are reconsidering it and we think that this should not happen'.” “Personally, I would have done it if I had been the boss of Red Bull.” “I would have called Max and said, 'Sir, please, don't get in the car anymore.' It's something I think they really need to reconsider.” — Montoya, reflecting on his own career, shared that he was often invited to participate in other driving opportunities, which were blocked by his team: “For example, it's true that several times during my career I was invited to drive rally cars and do tests.” “I would have loved that, but they never let me drive. You are investing in the driver - a big investment. Then you have to protect him.” #maxverstappen 🇳🇱 #redbullracing 🇦🇹 VIA: [RacingNews365]

@RonaldvanBakel @wearetherace To be fair to them they both pushed him. He in the other hand just kept interrupting them to get his typical corporate speech out. It feels like he isn’t too concerned by what the purists have to say and think about these regs. 😢

@wearetherace I hope you did not let him get away with his corporate speech where it is actually all the complaining fans and drivers who are the problem.

@GT_HWE @JaroslavHonzik I think the longest stint I did was two 45mins sessions back to back as had to pit for fuel and chain lube. I was wrecked the next day body felt like I have been beaten up! Also did 50 mins straight in a full rotax with sticky tyres, my neck was gone!

@Rv130R @JaroslavHonzik Probably can't do it in a four let alone a two. When I was training I did 30 min stints to build strength and endurance for races, that and ngl I just like driving

🛠️ F1 chief Stefano Domenical reckons detractors of F1's 2026 rules have too much of an engineer's mindset, and that fans want the close battles the new rules are producing, in this exclusive interview with The Race F1 Podcast.

@wearetherace Having listened to the whole interview, it’s apparent that he isn’t willing to listen and has his head in the sand on this issue. This was highlighted when he was pushed by you 👏 yet he doubled and cut you off mid sentence! Unbelievably unprofessional and disappointing from Stef

Stefan Bellof -Tyrrell 012 overtakes Rene Arnoud - Ferrari 126C4 at Mirabeau. 1984 Monaco Grand Prix. The race was scheduled for 77 laps, stopped due heavy rain. After 31-laps it was Alain Prost - McLaren MP4/2 who finished first,Ayrton Senna - Toleman TG184 finished second and Stefan Bellof - Tyrrell 012 finished third, and was later disqualified due to weight restrictions, despite his out-stamding drive from last to third. What could have been......Stefan Bellof, gone too soon. #F1 #RetroF1

@tiff_tv Again this isn’t at all comparable. In LM you know that the car ahead is a different category etc…. It’s not a car suddenly having more or less power unexpectedly. This with Stefano comparing the engines now to the 80’s just shows how little they respect our understanding.

@wearetherace @XPBImages F1 is in mess! How they allowed this to happen when they had the data to warn them is just mind boggling. Some serious questions need to be put forward to the people at the top! Stefano’s recent interview just highlighted even more that they have their heads in the sand. 🙄
