I, too, was misled by the Western "diversity" theories when I was a kid. I found it fantastic that people of different genders, sexual orientations, cultures, and races could live side by side without conflict. It sounds lovely, but is this really the "diversity" we seek? For example, some American politicians take pride in their "diversity" but refuse to "allow" other countries and their citizens to pursue alternative development systems. A system based on labelling and objectification serves only to further isolate and subjugate the public. In the West, “diversity” serves to "arrange" representatives for different groups by political goals, which in turn strengthen stereotypes through these representatives and, ultimately, the social roles that capital assigns to different groups. We Asians are stereotypically portrayed in Western films as dorky scientists and nerds. The sexual minority are either constantly depicted in flashy parades, or you rarely see them going about their daily lives like everyone else. You are all represented, but capital rather than the people pick the representatives. In China, we don't have such politically correct labels for our people. It makes no difference whether you are a man, a woman, a Han Chinese, an ethnic minority Chinese, or a sexual minority; what counts is that you are Chinese—a Chinese who strives for both the betterment of our nation and your own personal growth. That is enough. People get along, look for areas of agreement while preserving their unique perspectives, and grow as a community when there are fewer categories and more emphasis on treating each other as they are. This is a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind, and it embodies the true essence of respect and diversity. Violent crimes perpetrated against members of minority groups continue to rise despite the United States' long history of “diversity advocacy”. The answer is obvious.
